Lesson 4 of 12 · 4 min
Cash out in live betting
In live betting the cash out button flashes more often than pre-match. After a chance you might be offered 72 on a stake of 100. The cut is usually harsher, because the bookmaker knows you are scared. The rule from the bet slip course applies here too: exit when the plan breaks or at your bankroll stop-loss, not every time the ball hits the post.
Live cash out in plain words
Live cash out is more tempting because the picture is screaming at you. A pre-match bet you meant to see through does not have to die in the 25th minute just because “they started badly”. A bad start is one stretch of xG, not a verdict, as long as your p has not been broken by real news (a red card, a penalty).
How it works
Your rule: cash out live only after a red card or penalty against your reasoning, or at your stop-loss. Hitting the post is not a rule. Do not take an 80% partial cash out “for your nerves” without recording the remainder in units. The remainder is a bet too.
- The rule at the top of the page.
- A chance versus real news.
- Record the offer.
- Do not lock in after shots against the post.
Example with numbers
You backed the home win pre-match. It is 0:0 in the 30th minute, the away side has hit the post twice, and the cash out offer is 60 on a stake of 100. You are scared. The rule has not been triggered, so you sit tight. A home red card triggers the rule: you may exit and record the offer. What matters is not how the shot looked but that the match itself has changed.
| Moment | Cash out? |
|---|---|
| Shot against the post | no |
| Red card against you | allowed by the rule |
| Daily stop-loss reached | allowed |
Common mistakes
- Cashing out at every chance.
- Not recording the offer.
- A partial cash out without counting the remainder as part of your 1u.
- Cashing out every winning bet “before they take it back”.
What to write in your diary
